Shine is the first single from my debut album, Valerie's Pride. The song, which was written in Lagos and recorded in Abuja, features production from Genji and Shaun Mbah. This record is the first glimpse at the direction I'm going with my career, as the mood I am trying to set with this album is very different from what my fans are used to. We are definitely experimenting a lot more with African sounds in general, but there is a central focus on merging afrobeat with hip-hop soul.
