ION begins with a startling voice in the silent midnight of downtown Los Angeles. Her words echo between worlds, resonating over towers of new glass and the tattered old tents below. As she stands alone in the street with her life in a shopping cart, her mind zig zags through thoughts and feelings with the freedom of someone who is used to being invisible and ignored.  In the city of angels, there are nearly 60,000 of these 'invisible' people; labeled by society as transients, bums and addicts. The kaleidoscopic tribe of Skid Row is made up of every kind of broken dreamer, war hero, former success and generational trauma. The brightest lights of these angels have been dimmed by circumstance, habits, politics and collective indifference.
