"Candela » originally composed by Faustino Oramas, and made famous by Ibrahim Ferrer in the Buena Vista Social Club, is one of the most emblematic songs of the Cuban culture. I wanted to make a 2.0 version of Candela, turn up, zapapaya, heavy 808s, trap and moombahton. The perfect mix of the old and new El Speaker. My trip to cuba really inspired me, it’s the reason I wanted to dedicate a full EP to the Cuban music and culture. For people to remember forever that beautiful legacy. Honor the ancients and tease the youth, when the old school meets the new school, that became my Mantra.
