Like other up-and-coming artists, Canadian newcomer COTIS is trying to cut through the noise. From a small city in Western Canada, he certainly has the odds stacked against him, but a number of acclaimed releases has built over the course of the year. The 21-year-old's latest single, “Reasons” (the first after his second project, Patience), is a level up for him, and, back with main producer counterpart Martin Wave, he is at his absolute best. Bright, knocking production accompanies his confident flow on it, and, as a result, a truly potent track appears. With the likes of Complex, Lyrical Lemonade, Ones To Watch, and others behind him, COTIS steps forth with heaps of momentum, and "Reasons" provides the latest—and possibly best—example why it will continue from here.
