Zero-B1 embodies the past, present, and future of Afrobeat with “The Zero Experience”. Instrumentally rich these tracks possess so much soul. From the way each piece builds off the last to the undeniable sunshine radiating out of every possible crevice of sound, it all works wonders in delivering a sense of serenity. Nor is this an easy kind of peace – it is one hard-fought after much contemplation. Thus, the songs do have that lived-in quality to them. Production-wise it feels stunning for the works waft on by in a delirious haze, with laid-back rhythms alongside infectious hooks that adorn each piece. By far the highlight of the entire experience comes from those vocals that have a resonance to them.
