what’s the rush 2 adulthood when youth is subjectively a limited resource? why are we so hellbent on comparing growth trajectories when we live at our own paces? every year, i watch age become less & less indicative of anything. i feel pressure when someone tells me that i need 2 act/think/consume in particular ways to “keep up” with those born in the same year. u don’t need 2 lose ur virginity by 18, pick ur dream job by 22, or meet ur soulmate by 30! own ur growth how u wanna. it’s u. “grow tf up” is the most hypocritical, least inspiring phrase out when it comes 2 catalyzing actual growth. nobody says “finish that sh*t” watering plants. growth is not a command. we grow when we grow. stay true 2 ur inner child & let your your youthful spirit shine thru. 4 the patient growers.
