16*29 is a collaborative album by rappers Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti. The hype for “1629” began with a Snapchat post from Carti in September 2017, featuring the punk rock group, “The Damned”. The picture was accompanied by a caption that read “Carti Uzi Tape Uzi Carti Tape* 16.29.”. The album title is supposedly a reference to both collaborators' old neighbours. Carti coming from Altana’s 2900 section and Uzi coming from the 1600 block of North Philly. On August 23, 2021, Uzi confirmed the highly anticipated collab album “16*29”, featuring Atlanta rapper, Playboi Carti.
