Audiomack Presents: A Boogie Performing “No Promises” With a Full Orchestra

By Donna-Claire Chesman on March 1, 2018

A Boogie proves that every great trap song needs an orchestral arrangement.

Following the success of the Migos Trap Symphony, and A Boogie’s last smash symphonic rendition of “Say A,” Audiomack has once again brought together a nine-piece orchestra for A Boogie wit da Hoodie to perform “No Promises.” With the orchestra behind him, Boogie re-imagines the biting and moody energy of the single, sinking ever deeper into his feelings.

Plucking strings emphasize the ribbing quality of the percussion. Boogie loses himself in the moody keys and rich quality of the cello. With a despondent expression, he breaks into the hook and second verse, leaving his heart on the stage. While “No Promises” centers around a failing relationship, Boogie’s performance is spotless and touching.
