Sokoto, a major city in Nigeria, is often used to describe something far away. "Sòkòtò" means "trouser" in Yoruba. The Yoruba proverb suggests that we often overlook the value and worth that lie within us while seeking them externally. Instead, we should activate and optimize the gifts we possess for the greater good of the community. We must focus on what lies within our "Sòkòtò" rather than constantly searching outside for validation.
