"Viva La Vida" is a popular song by the British band Coldplay, released in 2008 as part of the album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. The song features a grand melody with lyrics that depict a former king who has lost his power, reflecting themes of downfall, regret, and changing fate. The title, which means "Long Live Life" in Spanish, was inspired by a painting by Frida Kahlo. The lyrics contain numerous historical and religious references, such as the bells of Jerusalem and stories of fallen empires, adding a dramatic touch to the song. With its powerful orchestral arrangement and deep lyrics, Viva La Vida became one of Coldplay's most successful songs, winning the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2009 and remaining popular to this day.
