Because I Said So is a tightly packed six-track EP produced entirely by frequent collaborator Señor Thug FKA SeanYe West, built around dusty samples, hard drums and sharp, uncompromising lyricism. Boom-bap leaning without feeling trapped in the past, Tracy Lamont delivers each record with confidence, precision and a clear sense of identity. From the commanding energy of “LOKI” and “Be Easy” to the more reflective atmosphere of “Leaving Ironwood” and “Voice Memo 05 (Limelight),” the project balances raw conviction with moments of introspection. Clocking in at under 12 minutes, Because I Said So wastes no time, carries no filler and makes its point without asking for permission.
