This is one of the few times 'Fela' has been channeled unerringly, his spirit possessing and permiating the soul of this willing sage, drumming into the consciousness of the willing, the need for a full collective awakening. Tourboh's latest effort 'human rights' is heavily inspired by the great Fela Anikulapo Kuti's 'Beast of no nation' album, released in 1989. The beauty of this song is it's total deviation from Fela's sound while retaining the same spiritual elements and the poignant message intact. He weaves the issues of the malevolent faces of geopolitics, the military industrial complex and the recurring exploitation of Africa into a colourful tapestry of holy angst and a point blank call for reflection.
