"Just Cruise" offers a refreshing take on the Island reggae genre, blending a contemporary production style with infectious, clever lyrics and hints of pop sensibility. This powerful Island reggae anthem manages to sound both comfortably familiar and excitingly new. The track was born out of a writing session at drummer Calvin Canha's studio in Kaimuki, HI, during a 2024 writing camp. Produced by Canha alongside keyboard player Brady O’Rear, the song came together remarkably quickly. Lead singer Evan Hawkins penned the lyrics almost immediately upon hearing the beat.
