DEIN BOTE means “peace has come.” In Kalabari, a language spoken by the oil rich ijaw ethnic group in Rivers State, Nigeria. This song is a heartfelt refix by Spiffy Lawson, also known as Spiffy Yo, paying tribute to his grand uncle, the legendary Cardinal Rex Lawson who raved the Nigerian music scene in the 50's & 60's before his untimely death in 1971. The original hit, Bere Bote, translated as “trouble has come”, captured the mood of its time and was an instant hit all over Nigeria & Africa
This new version flips the narrative, from chaos to harmony, from conflict to peace, blending cultural heritage with modern Afrobeats energy. Dein Bote isn’t just a song; it’s a statement of hope, unity, and resilience, proving that after every storm, peace will always come
