Izithembiso (Promises) This is a poem written out of pain, sadness, and heartache. It is not necessarily based on a certain situation of disappointment because it is just all about broken promises. Family, friends, colleagues, boyfriends and girlfriends, in fact, everyone breaks promises out there. So, this poem is based on the pain and sadness that one has after going through some disappointments because of the ones they truly love. Although they say "always leave a room for disappointment" when it happens, it always leaves oneself hurt and broken.
