Spawn of a vocalist and session musician, Christian Tobiah Shorter inevitably developed a passion for singing, song-writing and instrumental experimentation. As a child member of his local church choir, the Poughkeepsie native was heavily influenced by gospel music and hymns. That was until the sonic plethora of the 1980s mesmerized him. “I remember listening Billy Joel, Prince, David Bowie, Sade… Their music blew my mind. It made me want to make great music.”
Throughout his teens and well into college, Christian continued to make impressive strides with the ukulele, guitar, banjo, piano and computer production software. After an injury and illness halted his college basketball career, Christian relocated to California in 2000 to pursue a full-time career in music.
