OGMA is the brooding, emotional, muddy and sonically odd third commercial EP by Shingie-Lee released on the 28th of April 2023. The self produced concept EP sees Shingie-Lee take on the angry and depressed, double sided character OGMA, in an attempt to process the emotions he feels as him and his teenage love interest trade words via voice messages, both trying to navigate their newly long distance relationship which seems to be rapidly falling apart. The project’s sonic environment and lyrical content is heavily inspired by Tyler, the Creator’s critically acclaimed concept album “IGOR” and XXXTENTACION’s debut Album “17”. The Tyler influences can be heard through the use of repetitive dissonant piano chords, chopped and placed over muddy, heavily compressed drum samples.
