Samory I’s STRENGTH, released late in 2023, has been one of the most celebrated reggae albums of the year and arguably, the decade. The record was #42 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2023 (only reggae release picked); voted as the best album of the year by fans in Germany’s RIDDIM magazine (along with producer of the year for Winta James); and garnered playlisting everywhere from Tuff Gong Radio to Radio Nova (France), song of the day features on KEXP and Ebro Darden’s Apple Music show. Now the album has a deluxe version, with 3 brand new songs, along with 3 dub versions of those songs, mixed by Fumiaki Ogata. For those who have yet to experience this acclaimed record, here is a perfect way to dig in for the first time.
