This song is birthed out of two Biblical Scriptures. The idea that I have to reduce myself, my ego, my life so that God can be increased is echoed in John 3:30-35. Also, Luke 14:26 states that if I want to live my life for Christ, I have to hate everything in it, and follow Him. It's all about Him; not about us.
