This was the first Cali-Tex release, compiled by Shadow under the alias “Motorcycle John.” It was the first compilation to highlight obscure high-school and lab band records. The Cali-Tex logo was designed by Shadow’s father, who provided the illustration. The vinyl version, of which there were 2,000 pressed, does not contain “Cisco Kid,” “Funky Side of Town,” “Nine Monks,” “Camel Back,” “Toast to the Boogie,” “Give It Away,” or “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey.” This project was legitimately reissued in 2009 on CD only.
