National Cake explores the deteriorating state of our nation's economy and the rejection, dejection and depression suffered by the downtrodden who are obviously at the receiving end. The dividends of Democracy that are supposed to be enjoyed by all and sundry are practically enjoyed by the elites; they have made the National Cake their families' inheritance leaving the rest of the populace to suffer abject poverty coupled with hunger which is occasioned by the high cost of living. The song further informs us of the eagerness of the downtrodden to also have their shares of the National Cake which is the right of every citizen and not meant for only the elites.
