As a musician (anyone that diligently work to progress in a particular field), there's a certain level of grind that we have to put into our craft, sometimes we have to work all night, travel, perform in clubs, etc. The rewards and benefits that we receive are plentiful, but throughout our journey, we have to sacrifice much; health, friendships, and sometimes, romantic relationships. This song is basically reminding some of the people in our lives that we truly have "work to do"; and although we've had to sacrifice a little bit of our relationship, the work that we're putting in will pay off in the end.
