"The Shadow", PHNX' first EP - takes listeners on a journey through resilience, introspection, and the shadows we all encounter—whether internal or external. Building on their signature sound, The Shadow deepens their exploration of dark, atmospheric soundscapes while expanding into new sonic territory. “The Shadow” marks an evolution from PHNX’ earlier work. It is the next logical step in their journey, following ‘Save Me’. While still rooted in the dark, melancholic trip-hop sound reminiscent of Massive Attack and Lamb, the EP incorporates darker and rougher elements of UK dubstep, particularly influenced by the early works of Benga and Skream. The tracks are raw, gritty, and emotionally charged, yet maintain a delicate balance between vulnerability and aggression.
