PATH P’s latest self-produced, high energy track, “Leviathan” is a rare moment for PATH of bravado-laden lyricism. PATH wanted to take a moment to acknowledge his journey and the feeling of being ‘larger than life” throughout a consistent career, and if no one else were to give him his flowers, he’d give his own, as the hook opens with “I’m a Leviathan, give my bouquets like a Hyacinth”. Not only that, but it’s also a call to action to rappers who continue to contribute to narratives that, in his eyes, under-serve the diversely beautiful, versatile and nuanced nature of storytelling that exists in Hip Hop and the music, especially if it adds to the negative mental and emotional imagery that also tends to get associated with Hip Hop music (violence, drug use, etc.) societally.
