Ojay On The Beat

Ojay, whose real name is Josimar Ellis discovered his love for music while attending Mico Primary and Junior High when he started playing the wind instruments and reading scores from a manuscript. In 2014 when he entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival Music Competition as a solo performer playing the acoustic guitar, while he was a student at the Portmore Community College. His effort was good enough to earn him second place. Encouraged by his success, he took his career to the next level by registering his label and name. A year later he would launch out as a full-time producer. Ojay describes his first studio experience as an interesting one actually but one that was not exciting. In fact, he spent most of his time learning about the studio equipment.
