N.A.O Quelly seemingly contains multitudes as a self-proclaimed "rebel with a cause," standing firmly at the forefront of a palpable Brooklyn movement with the New Age Outlaw$. His music brims with the energy of an invincible youth, but also holds a certain controlled understanding of the world and his own place in it.

UNLAWFUL follows Quelly's first official show in NYC at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory earlier this summer, which was consequently the first New York venue that Joey sold out on his 1999 tour seven years ago. His live debut was met with a sold-out crowd and a raucous atmosphere that proves Quelly is setting himself apart from the crowded landscape of New York hip-hop, similarly rising out of the fray of the underground like Joey did years ago.
