As someone who has been on a healing journey for some time, I can truly say that this project has transformed me in the best way possible. As always, all of the songs are based on true events; some first-person, some from a bird’s eye view. If you are going through something I want you to know you are not alone. While I can’t be with youth physically, I hope this project can help you vocalize your thoughts and help you along your healing journey.

The past year has been a tumultuous one. I have been through near homelessness, hungry nights, trials, and tribulations unlike anything I have experienced before, but I made it! This project details some of the things I went through!

Behind the Mask takes listeners literally behind the metaphoric mask I wore to hide the tears I wanted to shed. I hope people are able to understand my pain but also share in my joy that I have now made it out.

"The Skin I'm In" takes you on a journey through my life as a dark skin Black Woman. This EP is vulnerable, relatable, and healing for many who have had to walk through the storms brought onto them because of their skin tone. I hope this is a piece of art that can be used to continue to heal and educate others!
