Red M’s “unreleased.zip” is a raw, introspective mixtape emerging from Morocco’s underground scene, exploring late-night reflections on ambition, distractions, and personal renewal. I began working on it in 2022 and finished in 2026, drawing from various stages of my life—the early demos driven by relentless energy, the middle tracks shaped by life’s unexpected turns, and the final pieces signaling a fresh start. Created while traveling across Morocco, it’s a 15-track collection blending trap rhythms, old-school rap flows, amapiano grooves, and Arabic elements. It features Reham Abd Elhakim on a sample from “عسل أسود,” along with collaborations from IceBerg and Demon U. The songs address moments like those 4:00 AM realizations of being caught in lust and poor decisions, to metaphors of shedding skin like a snake for growth. I touch on family expectations, how society overlooks young talent, and the determination of grinding solo. Mostly self-produced and mixed, with a demos feel that’s authentic and unrefined, this project closes one chapter and opens another—unfiltered and powerful.
