Religion and spirituality have always played an important role in South African culture and music. Church was the first place where I experienced the power of the spoken word. In this track I wanted to bring elements of traditional South African gospel into a modern Afro house context, blending its rhythms and vocal textures with looping drums and electronic grooves to connect heritage with the dancefloor.
