I Think for me the song is about and represents going through or being in a toxic relationship and not being an adult and leaving the relationship or situation because you are scared to be alone or being with someone else. Not saying the person is toxic but the relationship because things happen for the relationship to go bad like growing apart , or wanting different things in life. the inspiration for me was not only a bad relationship for me but what i saw from my friends and families own relationships with their significant others.
