days we lost is a mixtape about a kid who is desperately fighting to hold onto his childlike purity, honesty, and creativity but is challenged by misfortune, pain, loss, and societal standards. We put this project together when I was transitioning out of college into full fledged adulthood. I returned home to a gentrified Oakland. An Oakland that was very different than the Oakland that I grew up in. I had to work jobs that I hated, experienced heartbreak for the first time, and unfortunately lost a few friends. We captured that period in time and cultivated a story. This project exist to remind us of the memories and childhood lessons we’ve almost forgotten.
