Mazzi 500’s first interaction with the craft he’s fallen headfirst into came at a very young age- he would often spend his time writing poems for his mother when she was under the weather. Irrespective of what hand of cards life had dealt him, and where these cards have taken him and are continuing to take him, poetry is a constant. 
 Throughout an unfortunate situation that lead him to 5yrs of incarceration, his poetry got him through. But by way of this situation, Mazzi 500’s work impacted everyone around him- his cellmate told him that his poetry was like music. His two weeks in solitary confinement is where he birthed his first song. Again, his craft is what got him through.
