Libretto Orchestra takes meditation metal to a new level with their second mediatatio album. While the first album “Libretto Meditatio” was purely instrumental, “Chugger” introduces slow humming and growling over meditative riffs. The album features 15 tracks exploring multiple chugging styles: Drone, Doom, Death, Djent, Groove, Metalcore, and Gojira-style chugging. Each style creates its own meditative space – Drone chugging is hypnotic and continuous, Doom chugging majestically heavy, Death chugging primal and galloping, while other styles add unique flavors to the meditation. The cello serves as the lead instrument throughout the album, distinguishing it from traditional symphonic metal. The orchestra’s role is to support the chugging-based meditation, not vice versa.
