In Romans 4, Paul presents Abraham as the prime example of living in a right covenant relationship (i.e., righteousness) with God because Abraham trusts (or believes) that God will fulfill His promise (4:1-5). Abraham is the prime example of faith and right relationships and serves as a human paradigm for them.
