Hustling by working multiple jobs; dealing with over-aggressive dudes on dating apps; grinding in the underground hip-hop scene; and trying to hook up while your roommate is home are just some of the subjects of the tracks on “Lex and the City,” the EP from hip-hop artist and Queens, NY native Lex Rush. Over contemporary boom bap beats by Long Island-based, beat competition beast producer Flames Emoji, Lex tackles these matters with her signature mix of brash honest, oddball humor, braggadocio and vulnerability. Guest artists include DJ Rob Swift, End of the Weak core artist Jess Jamez and the singer-songwriters Meditate and Chenzira.
