The idea for Project D came about when Lazzriel was enjoying listening to Operation Doomsday by MF Doom. Having heard a few of the original sampled tracks, Lazzriel decided to track down more of these songs and see how different his flips would be. The verses for Project D were recorded in one evening session. It was an experiment that soon became an excuse to get Greg and Moon Cookie in the studio. At least until the next official project. The features by the Lethal Weaponz and the Gregory Phil Harmonic were a juicy bonus. Because the tracks had nothing in common other than Doom had sampled them, the style of production and rhymes were handled differently on each track, resulting in each track being completely unique.
