the project “Wonderland” pays homage to prolific black femme writers such as Bell Hooks, our Ancestors, and African Spirituality, using a soundscape of Contemporary R&B, Dance, Hip-hop, and Gospel. “Wonderland” is intended to hold up a mirror to Homophobia and Racism with hopes of eradicating it, while also inviting queer and femme folk down the rabbit hole to “Wonderland”, a sonic land of freedom, empowerment, and self-love; from the heart and mind of Lassai, carefully sequenced into this song cycle.
