The lyrics and melody were written shortly after the LA Lakers won the NBA Championship this year. Kaptev was inspired by seeing LeBron James win yet another title after all the doubt and hate that was thrown his way. In the same tone, reminiscing how the Toronto Raptors proved everyone wrong in last year’s Championship victory. After Kaptev came up with the hook, the rest of the lyrics just flowed out effortlessly. Kaptev draws inspiration from his peers in the music industry as well as from other facets of life such as sports, film and his fam.
