What’s it like to create with no inhibition? Over the course of 2 days, UTK, Kaly, and Shankar crafted an album’s worth of material that is nostalgic, reminiscent of the music they grew up listening to, and that deals with mature themes in a whimsical fashion. Miraculously, while Kaly and UTK have known each other for years - the three had never been in the same room together until this project. Shankar is best known for creating Indian classical/fusion music. The fact that this came about cohesively at all is incredible. The music is carefree, but also touches on themes of heartbreak, struggle, and defying the stereotype of what a brown man is. This is not the music they would make if they were 20 year olds today.
