Inspired by Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Revolution Won’t Be Televised”, Amanda Bynes is a psychedelic take on age-old feelings of despair and desperation. Drawing from the media’s portrayal of Bynes mental health in recent years, the song surrounds my ongoing battle to stay afloat in allegory. Conflicted by reoccurring tragedy, my inner conflict with ADHD, depression and addiction have only worsened. This has led me to desire a new start or “new whip” per say. To conclude, Amanda Bynes is a dark expression of my chaotic emotions.
