Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria - JeffreyBenson (JB) is a Canadian-based Afro6ix artist born in Lagos, Nigeria. He began making music freestyling over instrumentals at the age of 15. His preferred genre was Hip-Hop/Rap until, at university, he discovered Pan-Africanism, which led him to dig deeper and discover a more authentic and closer sound to him - Afrobeat (A genre created by Fela Kuti.) 
 However, prior to his discovery of Pan - Africanism, and Afrobeat, JB was already in love with sounds from WizKid, Wande Coal, 2Baba, P-Square Blackmagic and Burna Boy, who are classified as Afro-Pop/Fusion artists. He was introduced to these sounds at an early age by his uncle T-Joe, a prominent distributor in the early 2000s.
