Jay’s goal has always been to push the boundaries of the culture and blend sounds into an unconventional audio journey. Flirting with the lines between poetry and experimental hip hop, Jay Squared has advanced his sound through his work within and out of his native city. Over the years of his development as a music artist, he has landed on Local 4 News in Detroit, Lyrical Lemonade, ELEVATOR, Daily Chiefers, EARMILK, the Metro Times (one of Detroit’s premier publications), and performed at multiple local festivals (such as MOPOP, Arts, Beats & Eats, Dally in the Alley, etc.).
