I feel that what holds friends together is the bond that they have created. This is why real friendship isn't easily broken and why you can still be friends with someone that you haven't met in ages. I felt this bond when I received birthday wishes from a lot of friends on my birthday (05/07). I haven't seen a lot of them in years but the bond was still there.
