The Orangu-Tang Clan were a 3 piece from Gipton nr Leeds who were fronted by cricket fan 'Purple P' aided by Rose Dog and Darren Z. They were influenced by the bourgeoning US hip hop scene & recorded 3 singles. This was their first release. Purple P, real name Andy Houseman, was a very amateur musician and was also a member of Yorkshire Cricket Club. His 3 songs recorded under the umbrella of the Orangu-Tan Clan were all to do with Yorkshire cricketing heroes. 'Rose Dog' real name Jane Horsely, was a keen amateur botanist with a shared interest in cricket, who was briefly in a relationship with Houseman. Little is known of Darren Z.
