"As the year draws to a close, most of the corporate structures that house major-label musicians are hibernating. But like some of his sub-mainstream peers, Fat Trel is bucking trends and slipping in new music before the calendar flips. The Washington, D.C. native has returned with Muva Russia, his second mixtape of the year, which is available to stream in its entirety. The 22-track set is mostly devoid of big-name collaborations (on either side of the boards), but showcases Trel at his brashest and boldest. For those who are just catching up to the Maybach Music Group signee, it’s a good primer, albeit a sprawling one." XXLMAG
