“The Test” is inspired by Genesis 22, the story of Abraham and Isaac and one of the greatest tests of faith in Scripture. Abraham waited years for the son God had promised him. Then one day, God asked for the very thing Abraham had waited so long to receive: “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love…” He climbed the mountain with questions only a father could understand. This is a song for anyone who has ever had to trust God without understanding what He/She was doing. Abraham had questions, but he still walked in faith, believing that the God who gave the promise would also provide. “By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac… He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead.” — Hebrews 11:17-19
