I wanted to make a project paying homage to DJ Premier, but I wanted to do it differently. The beats I picked, the approach I took, and execution I wanted to be unlike anyone else who took a similar venture to this. When you look at the artwork, what I’m wearing, the painting, and vinyls around me it becomes incredibly clear that I’m a bonafide fan and student of Premier. Not some “rapper” merely using his name for some clicks. It becomes super clear especially when you listen to “How It Started” When you press play, you should not only get I’m influenced by Preem, but a sense of who I am & what I stand for.
