For Derek Maxfield, business has always been about purpose. A promise made to a dying friend inspired his lifelong mission to do something great, and Saprea became the fulfillment of that promise. Before co-founding Younique in 2012 with his sister, Derek worked in software development, building tools for the direct sales industry. The growth of Younique provided the resources to establish Saprea, an organization dedicated to helping survivors of childhood sexual abuse heal.
