Dom Smith is a digital journalist and qualified counsellor. In 2007, Dom graduated from York St John University with a Film and Television degree. He later completed his Master’s degree in Magazine Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. In 2012, he was the National Diversity Award winner for Entrepreneurial Excellence. He was also voted one of the happiest people in the country according to the Independent on Sunday.

Dom runs the music publication, Soundsphere and in previous years has written for Metro, Rock Sound magazine, NME.com, and Metal Hammer magazine to name a few. He has interviewed everyone from Judas Priest to The 1975.

Soundsphere editor, Dom Smith has launched a new podcast today (May 5, 2022):

He says: “I’ve launched a new podcast, which is just me talking to my talented friends, without the pressures of management or PR companies who need to promote something when I do Soundsphere-related stuff.

In this first episode I got to catch up with my wonderful artist friend Mary Bottom (who I spent some time with at Keene State College) and talk about her career, creative inspirations and more.”

Our latest poodcast episode feature Patrick McGeough from the Wheelchair Dance Sports Association (WDSAUK) and Dom Smith from Soundsphere.   We look at how wheelchair dance can help you enjoy an active social life whether you are in a wheelchair or maybe have a visual impairment or learning disability.  We also find out that wheelchair dance can help enhance the 'couple factor' in your relationship.

 

Our Second guest, Dom Smith is a music journalist who suffers from spina bifida  and co-founded the soundsphere online music magazine.  Dom dedicates much of his time helping the disabled make a breakthrough in the working world of music and media.  Dom won a National Diversity Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence and was dubbed one of the 'hundred happiest people in the country'
