Non-repetitive songs like this take me a lot of thought in planning out what the song structure will look like, how it will change, and how the instrumental can interact and build with the vocal to paint as compelling a story as possible in 3 minutes. To tell this story I brought back one of my most featured vocalists to act as the narrator, along with the full 12-person choir that previously sang on Dark Thing on Either Side. And lastly, I based the initial idea for this story on a particular episode of Game of Thrones some of you might remember.
